Home Winterizing Producs

Got a drafty window or door? We've got some easy solutions for helping you stay warm during the cold winter months and put little cash back in your pocket! Sealing up your home is a quick and easy job anyone can do and we're here to help! Let's start with doors and windows. Sealing up a drafty door usually consists of two types of weatherseal. The first place to start is by applying a self-stick foam weatherseal on the door jam where the door makes contact when it is closed. It's also a good idea to fill in the cracks aournd the door jamb and the wall if you ever have your door trim off. This can be done with an expanding foam sealant. Be sure to use a minimal expansion foam for windows and doors. You can also save some heating costs covering up windows and pation doors with window insulations kits. See the video below for easy to follow instructions.

Draft Stops for Doors

Secondly you'll want to close up the gap between the bottom of the door and threshold. This can be done by replacing an old and worn out threshold seal on the bottom of the door. If you are unable to find a replacement door seal made for your specific brand of door you can replace it with a universal door seal that can either be installed with an adhesive strip that sticks to the door or one that fastens to the door using screws.

Another great idea for stopping drafts is putting in foam sealers behind wall outlet and swith plates! For more information and help with other home winterizing products stop in and ask one of friendly helpful employees! We're more than glad to help you with any DIY project!
